The first step is understanding what needs to be done if Portland is going to secure an
expansion franchise.  Ultimately that is securing the funds necessary to bring PGE Park to
the standard that will support both PSU Football and MLS soccer and to help the Beavers
find their own facility.  The key things we - the public - can affect are to those ends are:

1) Educating the public about the benefits and challenges associated with bringing MLS to PDX
2) Letting Mayor Elect Sam Adams and city council members Fish, Leonard, Salzman, and Blackmer
know there is significant support for MLS in Portland if we do it our way.
3) Generally raising the public visibility of support for MLS

We have started a list of resources below - but would love to hear your ideas on how your
fellow Portlanders can pitch in.

Do your part to support soccer in Portland

Stuff that Retail Businesses Owners can do:
If you've got a storefront, you've got a unique opportunity to talk to your customers about
things that could impact your business.  And whether you run or own a hotel, a sports shop,
a local bar, or a clothing store, the prospects of Major League Soccer and higher profile
college football facilities  could be significant for your bottom line.

If you support MLS in Portland, you might consider:
  • Printing up your own MLS to PDX stickers with your logo on them and handing out to
customers (anyone is free to do whatever they want with our content in terms of
    reproduction)
  • Donating to this site (everything we receive goes back into this website & related
    efforts)
  • Talk to us about credited sponsorship (we get tens of thousands of hits per day)
  • Write to the city council members describing how your business could benefit from MLS
We could use the assistance of people in any of the following capacities
