The upcoming North American soccer season is shaping up to be a busy one.  As a result of the introduction of the
CONCACAF Champions League, we will have twice the number of top tier FIFA regional club competitions in 2008 as it
runs concurrent with the CONCACAF Champion’s Cup.   As if that were not enough, we will see the sophomore entry of
the SuperLiga featuring a selection of MLS and FMF teams this year.  USL-1 has extended its season to 30 games, while
both MLS and USL-2 have expanded their respective number of teams.

Our national teams will be busier than usual as well, with Olympic and World Cup qualifiers hopefully occupying both
sides well into and through the summer.  Both Bob Bradley and Dale Mitchell will not need to use their packed schedules
as an excuse for a soft lineup of friendlies however, as the US and Canadian squads are set to face top European clubs
as they warm up for World Cup qualifying.  The American’s fixture against Spain on June 4th certainly looms large.
2008 will be a tough season for soccer fans in North America . . . but in a good way.
Some of the best news to complement the increased number of fixtures is the expansion of broadcast coverage for all of our top leagues.  FSC will broadcast
an increased number of USL games, and MLS will likely have more than a couple of appearances on ABC.  USL fans were happy to learn that, just like last
year, no game will be played without coverage as USLlive will offer webcasts for all games not broadcast on FSC/FSW or FSN.  This schedule is constantly in
flux with more broadcast dates seemingly being added every week.

As we watched each of these developments surface during the winter, it became clear to us that it was going to be an exciting summer for the beautiful game,
but one where it would be tougher to keep track of the most important matchups.  That’s why we started FixtureDates.com.  We think it will help to have one
single up-to-date destination to find out who is playing where and when.

With so many TBDs and friendlies appearing on the official schedules at any time, we think there must be a better way than static websites, blogs, chat rooms
and press releases to find out about some of the best games being played by our clubs.  We also want to make it easy for anyone traveling to new
destinations in North America this summer to check out local professional soccer clubs, just by sorting our schedule by region or metro area.

As the season rolls on, we’re going to keep building our tools, but we’ll need your help to keep up with developments.  If you hear any inkling of a new fixture,
reschedule, or find that we got our facts wrong, we want you to hit our "Fix our dates" button.  We’d rather show placeholder schedule entry based on a rumor
than let you miss an important game.

I hope you enjoy the site!
